Save VCA Rally (pt. 1)

Students from Victorian College of the Arts staged a rally in Melbourne yesterday to protest the proposed changes to curriculum and cutbacks on teaching staff and courses.

There’s been a considerable backlash against the proposed changes not only for their potential impact on the quality of courses offered at the VCA but also because of the lack of tranparency in the process and the promise made to maintain the integrity of of the VCA when it was acquired by Melbourne Uni in 2007.

More information can be found on the official Save VCA site and a gallery of shots on The Age website here.
